As the major writer for this blog, I want to formally wish you all a Merry Christmas. I also desire to remind you the reason for this season and encourage you not to get lost in the hustle and bustle of some of the traditions we have attached to it. Jesus is the most important Person in human history ... whether He is to be believed as the human manifestation of God or not. 2000 years after His birth, He is still the most discussed person in Human history ... though not currently the most googled (a female singer left unnamed gets that 'honor' ... even our calendar is based off of His life.
Ask anyone close to me what my favorite holiday is and they will tell you ... it's Easter. The traditions in my family are a little different come that time. I do love Christmas, though.
In our home, we have a tradition that my children will grow up in ... we sing the carols that are about Jesus ... we discuss the facts surrounding Jesus' birth .. and we go though every detail of the Biblical accounts in Matthew and Luke concerning His birth. I want them to know... I want everyone to know. They are going to have question .. answer them as best you can .. don't be afraid of the "I don't know" answer ... there are details left out that mankind has marked with tradition ... learn the difference.
I urge you to read them for yourselves ... share them with your family ... and have yourselves a Merry Christmas! God bless you all ...
